"I am an ex-lawyer and stay-at-home mum who is determined to change the world through writing! I began writing adult and children’s books four years ago. My life is now a
whirlwind of playdates, soccer lessons and writing, writing and more writing. I began with the Sasha Books, a series of picture travel books about a little girl named
Sasha visiting places in Asia. My main aim in writing these books was so that my own daughter (Sasha!) would feel comfortable in her own environment and feel a sense
of belonging in her own backyard.
About the same time, I caught the environmental bug. I belatedly realised that our lifestyles are unsustainable and our children are going to inherit the mess. In a panic, I began to write books (printed on recycled paper) about endangered species and do a lot of school visits to talk to kids about environmental issues. My first colllection
were of picture books like Turtle Takes a Trip and Jungle Blues. I have however just written a book for 9-14 year olds that I am characterising as an environmental
fantasy, The Seeds of Time!
Because, I am a closet workaholic, I also began a series of crime fiction stories for adults based on the ubiquitous Inspector Singh.
My big breakthrough came when Little, Brown, UK bought the worldwide rights for the first three titles. So watch this space for 'Inspector
Singh Investigates - A Most Peculiar Malaysian Mystery' to be followed
by 'Inspector Singh Investigates - A Bali Conspiracy Most Foul.'
